The Maryland bridge has been successfully used in dentistry for many years now. It is a method to replace a missing tooth without preparing the neighbouring teeth. It consists of a metal framework and a porcelain/acrylic tooth connected onto the front of the framework, which has metal wings which are bonded to the back side of the teeth on either side of missing tooth.
